Welcome to the Peebles Food Festival

Peebles Food Festival Returns in September!

Launched last year, the three-day food festival proved so popular; attracting crowds from far and wide, that the organisers can’t wait to serve up a second helping and celebrate the very best food and drink that the town has to offer.
Chefs from restaurants, hotels and cafes are joining forces with local farmers and producers to put Peebles on the map as a destination for food enthusiasts. The other principle aim of the festival is to raise money for a Youth Catering Scholarship Fund which will help youngsters who wish to enter the catering trade with grants for the purchase of their equipment etc. when they start their training.
The festival, which is being held a month early this year, taking place from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th September, is now part of the new Taste Scottish Borders initiative.
Quality food is at the corner stone of the food festival, which kicks off on the Friday night with a Ready Steady Cook competition, featuring well-known Peebles chefs and guest assistants.
Local primary school pupils get in on the act on the Saturday with their own cook-off, while Cringletie House chefs Craig Gibb and Johnny Miller, young chef of the year, demonstrate tricks of the trade which people can copy at home.
The Saturday will also feature a food and wine matching masterclass, while the seven course gala dinner on the Saturday evening is set to be a hit. Each course is prepared by a different chef and is accompanied by a glass of wine to compliment the flavours of the food. The evening ends with a ceilidh.
Sunday sees the popular indoor farmers’ market in the Drill Hall with everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to locally produced game.

Please watch out updates on this site and for posters in the town which will give details of where to purchase your tickets when they go on sale nearer the end of August.
